(CONNECT) The Swiss textile specialist Création Baumann was commissioned to redesign the Karimoku Commons Showroom in Tokyo. The hybrid showroom and exhibition space of the Japanese wooden furniture manufacturer Karimoku Furniture was conceived in collaboration with Shunsuke Kato of NOTA&design, as was reported in a press release.

The showroom concept is based on the principle of “mazaru”, meaning to be blended. With its products, Création Baumann has created a harmonious blend of functionality, spatial aesthetics and artistic elements. For example, the vertical blinds IROLO offer flexible zoning while adding architectural accents. The elegant SOPRANO COLOR curtains provide subtle spatial division and create a pleasant lighting ambiance. To optimize acoustics and foster a warm atmosphere, the ACOUSTIC STRIPES acoustic blinds were also incorporated.

Alongside fabrics from the Swiss company, traditional wooden elements and modern furniture were used to create the hybrid showroom and exhibition space. According to the press release, the collaboration with Karimoku is two long-established family businesses combining their respective strengths in furniture and textile design. ce/ww
