Carlo Centonze has earned recognition from the London-based business journal for management executives “European CEO”. The CEO and co-founder of HeiQ, the technology firm that specializes in the area of innovative textiles processing from Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, has claimed the European CEO of The Year 2022 Award for the textiles industry, further details of which can be found in a LinkedIn post. The award is presented on an annual basis across a total of 12 separate categories.
“The award is the result of our team effort and every single one of our ‘HeiQans’ has made it possible”, comments Centonze on LinkedIn. In 2005, Centonze founded the company HeiQ Materials as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) together with Murray Height. Since this time, the company has developed into an “innovator in the textiles segment”, as the consulting firm EY explained back in November 2021, when it crowned Centonze as its Entrepreneur Of The Year. In 2020, HeiQ successfully implemented an IPO on the London stock exchange.
In January, HeiQ, the company that Centonze now leads as CEO, was awarded the Global Award 2021 CFI.co. The Global Awards are presented on an annual basis by “Capital Finance International” (CFI), a renowned business magazine based in Watford on the north-west fringes of London. The Jury evaluated HeiQ as the foremost expert for material innovations in 2021.
HeiQ is headquartered at the IJZ, an innovation and start-up park located in Schlieren. The company is also a member of Start Smart Schlieren and operates subsidiaries in a total of nine countries.
