Casio and Mammut have announced the release of an outdoor watch. According to a press release, it will unite the Pro Trek and Mammut brands in a single design. It is made from sustainable materials. This supports Mammut’s desire to eliminate harmful substances from its manufacturing processes.
Th PRW-61MA model is sold with a main wrist strap bearing Mammut’s monochrome Alpine image of snow-covered mountains. Mammut’s design details can also be found on the second watch strap made from soft urethane as well as on the watch face, the hour and minute hands, and the dials.
According to the information provided, the Pro Trek series is the first from Casio to contain watch parts made from environmentally friendly biomass plastics. The fabric strap consists of recycled PET material from plastic bottles and other plastics. The urethane strap is manufactured using biomass materials including castor seeds and corn. The case and case back are also made of biomass plastics.
Moreover, the watch has a charging system that converts sunlight and artificial light into energy. This means that there is no need to change the battery regularly.
