(CONNECT) Heberlein Technology AG has been honored with the Phoenix Award 2025 in the category “SMEs 100+ years”. The Phoenix Award has been bestowed each year by the Swiss umbrella organization for business succession (CHDU) since 2020. It honors companies that have successfully arranged their corporate succession for 100 years or more, a feat accomplished by only around 2 percent of Swiss companies.

The Wattwil-based Heberlein Technology AG impressed the jury with its eventful 190-year company history, which includes rise, decline and new beginnings: “We see Heberlein Technology AG as a prime example of a company that has developed from a family business into a global corporation, suffering downturns in the interim and now presenting itself as a solid SME,” the jury member Thomas Berner said in his laudatory speech, according to a communication from CHDU. “Thanks to a clever succession plan, it has been possible to retain an industrial gem in Switzerland as a place of work.”

Alongside CHDU Vice President Carla Kaufmann, Daniel Müller, Head of Location Promotion for the Canton of St. Gallen, and Alois Gunzenweiler, Mayor of Wattwil, congratulated the recipients. Heberlein’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, David Lippuner, said the honor is the perfect way to round off the anniversary year: “It confirms our commitment to continuing to give top priority to research and development, which are crucial to our leading role in the international textile industry so that we can continue to write our history successfully.”

A. Baggenstos & Co. AG from Wallisellen in the canton of Zurich was likewise awarded with a Phoenix Award 2025 in the category “SMEs 100 years”. ce/mm
