Micasa expands design line with Martin Schenk and Stéphanie Baechler

(CONNECT) For its “micasa Kreationen” design line, micasa AG is collaborating with the Bern-based designer Martin Schenk and Stéphanie Baechler, an artist who was born in Fribourg. According to a statement, the products designed by Schenk will be available both in store and via the online shop from August 20, while Baechler’s collection is to be gradually launched from late August onwards.

Schenk has developed the modular bed system UNO for micasa. Produced in Central Switzerland, the bed system comprises interchangeable elements that can be arranged in various ways and reconfigured as needed. It is available in 13 different colors, while matching nightstands are also available to complement the system. “My aim was to design a piece of furniture that, rather than being static, can accompany everyday life and allow for change”, the designer states.

For her textile collection, Baechler draws on a reinterpretation of the Swiss tradition of embroidery. Floral designs inspired by swaying meadows feature on placemats, napkins, cushions and curtains. “We wanted to reimagine this tradition with a modern twist”, as Maxime Zenderoudi, Creative Director at micasa, explains in the statement.

To realize its “micasa Kreationen” design line, the furniture retailer has sought to collaborate with designers with a connection to Switzerland. Since early 2026, designs by Sonnhild Kestler have been included in the line, and as the company explains, her doormats and organic percale bedding now rank among the best-selling items. Today, micasa operates 30 stores and was owned by Migros, one of Switzerland’s largest retail groups, until 2025. ce/as
