(CONNECT) The textiles and clothes manufacturer Jakob Schlaepfer based in St.Gallen has opened its first showroom in Paris. The company, which belongs to the Forster Rohner Group, has established its new showroom in the former premises of Karl Lagerfeld’s bookshop, as the company revealed in a statement.
In tandem with the opening of the showroom, the traditional craft business presented its expanded interiors collection at the Paris Déco Off 2026. The creation was designed under the direction of Fridtjof Linde. The collection was inspired by the Säntis mountain and Alpine landscape around the workshops. The company writes that more than 40 new designs have been created in natural shades from the light grey of limestone, the muted tones of marl, the silvery shimmer of lichen, the velvety green of mosses and the bright white of snow. The fabrics are created through an interplay of traditional processes with modern technologies, such as laser cutting, digital printing and experimental surface treatments. As a world first, Jakob Schlaepfer presents knitted carpets that are finished with hand embroidery. ce/ww
