(CONNECT) The Zurich-based textile manufacturer Dagsmejan is launching Stay Cool Air, a new product line for men. According to a statement, both t-shirts and shorts with NATTCOOL AIR technology are now available for men. The company highlights that this technology offers “maximum breathability – up to 14 times better than standard cotton”. This ensures the wearer stays cool even when the temperature rises. The T-shirts and shorts are offered in the shades Coastal Blue and Navy Blue.
The range of Stay Cool products for women has also been expanded, with T-shirts, shorts and sleepshirts now also available in the new shade of Horizon Blue.
The textiles are woven from eucalyptus fibers using NATTCOOL technology. Eucalyptus was chosen because its fibers have a cooling effect. Additionally, using eucalyptus fibers is also environmentally friendly: the plants require up to 20 percent less water and five times less land to produce the same amount of fiber when compared to conventional cotton.
Another step toward environmentally friendly production is Dagsmejan’s decision to manufacture its fabrics exclusively in Europe. Once the fibers arrive, they are spun into yarn in Italy. The fabrics are knitted and dyed in Switzerland, Austria and Italy, before the final assembly and sewing takes place in Romania. The resultant sleepwear is cooling, quick-drying and breathable. According to the company, these properties promote a restful night’s sleep. ce/ww
