On enters football with Kylian Mbappé

(CONNECT) On Holding AG is entering the football market and will now develop footwear and apparel for the sport. According to a statement, the Zurich-based company has secured French national team player Kylian Mbappé as a partner. He will work directly with the product development teams and also become a global ambassador for On. “I want to bring my experience and perspective into what we create,” commented Mbappé.

For football footwear, On plans to further develop innovations including its LightSpray technology, introduced in 2024. In this process, the upper of a shoe is robotically sprayed from a continuous filament. “Football doesn’t need another sportswear brand to do more of the same,” explained co-founder and co-CEO David Allemann.

The former French national team player Thierry Henry will lead the new On Football division as Director of Football. He has been working on the brand’s entry into football with On since late 2025 and will help shape athlete relationships and the brand’s positioning going forward.

Sydney Schertenleib, a Swiss national team player, is also set to be involved in the development and testing of football products. In particular, her experience in women’s football will be incorporated into the process. The FC Barcelona player has served as On’s ambassador for Training and Lifestyle since December 2025.
